The pink salmon run is absolutely on fire right now, and we’re getting easy limits with nonstop action! Huge schools of pinks have flooded Puget Sound, and the bite has been hot from the start of the day through the tide swings. This year’s return is one of the biggest we’ve seen in recent seasons, and the fishing has been fast and fun for anglers of all experience levels. We’ve been trolling small pink hoochies and spoons behind flashers, and the pinks are hammering them. These fish are stacked up in shallow water and chasing gear aggressively. Along with the pinks, we’re starting to see a few bright coho salmon show up in the mix, adding some bonus excitement and variety to the trips. With steady action and multiple hookups at once, it’s been one rod-bending moment after another. We’re running daily charters during the peak of the pink season, and it’s a great time to get on the water. Whether you’re looking to fill the cooler or just enjoy a high-energy day of salmon fishing, we’ve got you covered. King Salmon Season Summary

July 18, 2025

The king salmon season kicked off strong, with anglers seeing consistent action and full limits on many trips. The current top fish on the leaderboard is a solid 18 pounds, 3 ounces, but the competition has been tight. Several other contenders have landed kings in the 11-13 pound range, making the leaderboard battle exciting early in the season. With plenty of fish in the 13-pound class and coho salmon also starting to show in better numbers and size, it’s shaping up to be an excellent summer for salmon fishing.

We had a great day on the water with three awesome anglers visiting from Texas! The morning started off a bit slow, but once the bite turned on, it didn’t let up. The action picked up quickly, and we ended the trip with full limits of beautiful coho salmon. The fish are getting bigger by the day, and the excitement is building for what’s shaping up to be an incredible season. Big thanks to our guests who even helped me get my limit, true team spirit! Was amazing. Caught our limit for 4 less one. We had several big ones that got away. Pink salmon are tough. Captain was amazing and knew where to find the fish.

Big King Salmon Charters

Parking next to the dock. Bottled Water is provided on the boat. Bring snacks and any drinks you may want. Bring binoculars to see porpoise and maybe a whale or orca. Bring your cooler for your catch to take home which the captain will fillet on the boat heading back to the dock.

Axis Charters

First time here, this season looked like the King were leaving and the Coho coming in late July. Numbers at the locks for Kings were relatively low and Coho was all over the place. Really can’t go wrong but wanting to try to come back in a year with a lot of Pinks or August/September and try for some Coho.
